Each frame is handcrafted from the highest-quality timbers and can be built from a variety of wood species to suit your style and needs. We’ll work directly with you to choose the right wood, texture, and finish to bring your vision to life.
Our Process
Consultation
We will meet so that we can go over the scope of the project. This will give us both a better understanding of what exactly it is that you are looking for.
Design the Frame
Based off the consultation, Howell Timber Frame will draw up a design for the desired frame. We keep communication open and decisions shared to ensure that you love the timber frame design. This stage is also when decisions are made about your preference on wood species.
Cut, Sand, Fit and Oil
Every project has a different time line depending on the size and scope. This is the bulk of our process. Timbers are ordered and upon arrival are carefully layed out, hand cut, sanded and oiled.
Ship and Raise
Once the Frame is trial fit, it is carefully packed up and shipped. Howell Timber Frame will make sure the timbers are handled with the utmost care. Raising time varies depending on the size of the project, but typically most projects take one to two weeks raise.
